“Creep” - Ingrid Michaelson (Radiohead cover)
Lauren just might decapitate me, but I had to. Ingrid is so wonderful.
(via coursecollision)
I get mad whenever I see anything Creep related on the Radiohead tracked tag, and feel like I should go tell that person to go listen to music of theirs that the band themselves don’t passionately hate. But, why am I doing this? There are some artists on my iPod where I only have the hit song, and haven’t bothered listening to any others (Oasis, for example).
And I don’t feel as passionately about this with other artists. If someone mentions Beck’s Loser, I don’t feel the need to bludgeon them with Beck’s history and entire discography, but with Radiohead, it pains me not to.
I’ve even started to dislike Creep, which I never had before, just because I don’t think it is anywhere near the beauty of their later songs, yet it’s the only one everyone knows.
I just feel like everyone NEEDS to hear every Radiohead album from OK Computer to The King Of Limbs, but that’s so ridiculous because not everyone will be into it the way that I am.
You know how Radiohead fans are seen as pretentious? Yeah, you can pretty much blame that on me.
Y U NO LISTEN TO ANY OF THEIR MUSIC BESIDES CREEP?
Really, everything is fucking Creep. It’s making me sick.
Also, that ‘I’m a crepe, I’m a weir-dough’ thing that people keep reposting every second of every day instead of just reblogging it which would be so easy to do because it’s the majority of the Radiohead tags?
Yeah, stop that.
Creep (Radiohead Cover), Scala & Kolacny Brothers
This is legitimately the most beautiful rendition of any song I’ve ever heard.
(Scala is a Belgian girls’ choir.)
I want you to notice, when I’m not around.
This one is so difficult because I love the lyrics of pretty much every song I have.
I’ll limit it to three, though.
First, is Creep by Radiohead, a standard.
I don’t like early Radiohead all that much, and I know that the band hates this song, but sometimes I’ll hear it and just be astounded by some of the lyrics, especially these:
“I don’t care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I’m not around
You’re so fucking special
I wish I was special”
Second, my favorite song of the moment, Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.
The lyrics just so work beautifully.
“We laugh until we think we’ll die
barefoot on a summer night
Nothing new is sweeter than with you
And in the sticks we’re running free
like it’s only you and me
Geez, you’re something to see
Home
Let me go home
Home is wherever you are”
Last is Every Man I Fall For by Cold War Kids.
“I go walk alone Ocean Boulevard
Peek in your windows
Tired housewives nagging at their husbands
But is this the life you choose?
And I fall
I live with one concern
It’s the love
Diminish and return”
